Craft 'N Care Projects

Want to make a difference in someone’s life, but find your schedule seems too busy to get engaged off campus?

  • Check out CCE's new series of Craft ‘N Care projects!

WHAT TO EXPECT:

CCE wanted a way to make service opportunities more accessible to the busy lives of OSU community members while still making a meaningful contribution to our community partners. During a Craft ‘N Care service project, you can expect to make a variety of different crafts to be donated to local senior living facilitites, homes for adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities, children's hospitals, homeless shelters, troops, animal shelters, and/or youth organizations. These crafts are typically used as decorations for upcoming events, seasons, or holidays or simply to brighten up the environment of the buildings, and especially the lives of the people that use them!

CCE staff will plan all crafting projects. Come prepared to get creative!

WHEN:

CCE does our best to schedule Craft ‘N Care service projects during dead week of every term. After all, what college student wouldn't love taking a study break to do MEANINGFUL arts and crafts??

Project times are normally over the span of 3 hours. Volunteers are welcome to come and go as their schedule allows.

WHERE TO GO:

Craft ‘N Care events take place in a variety of public spaces on campus, depending on availability. In the past, MU Java Stop and Java II in the Valley Library have partnered with CCE to host these projects to give students a chance at a cup of coffee, a relaxing atmosphere, and a convenient location to stop by.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE:

No sign up is required. Simply keep an eye out for social media posts, listserv announcements, or posters around campus for upcoming project dates. Bring your friends, roommates, family, anyone!
