LeaLea McLeod, Degrees in Transition

Lea helps college grads find jobs.

Her “Find a Job Faster” program helps new professionals overcome the fear and trauma of the job search. It takes the grad through a three-step process to find that first professional experience.

She also works with young professionals to help them acquire the confidence to succeed in the workplace once they have that job. Her “Developing Patterns of Success” Workshop has been deployed to thousands of HP university hires around the world.

Before all this young adult work, Lea led a global, virtual team as a Director for Hewlett-Packard where she delivered a $1.3 billion program to over 300,000 worldwide employees.

Lea sits on the Advisory Board for Step It Up, Inc., a non-profit organization that works to develop high school retention and graduation rates in Portland Public schools, by connecting youth with meaningful career opportunities.

She holds a master’s degree in Organization Development from Seattle University and a business degree in Marketing from St. Bonaventure University.

Lea’s son Colin graduated from OSU in June 2012. She’s an avid gardener, hiker, and reader, and has recently become somewhat obsessed with the TV series, Breaking Bad.

KatherineKathrine Giacchino, Rubicon International

Kathrine Giacchino is a corporate leader, speaker, facilitator and connector.  Inspired by a university professor, she was determined to be a change agent for organizations.  She left her real estate position in the Midwest and secured a position with Rubicon International, a boutique technology consulting firm headquartered in Portland, Oregon.  Since then Kathrine has been a major contributor to the growth and transformation at Rubicon, now the leading international curriculum management system provider.  As the Foreman of Fundamental Questions, she directs Rubicon’s recruitment and hiring, coordinates the firm’s presence at national and international conferences and is a frequent speaker on panels and workshops.  Her energetic and determined contributions are best defined by her favorite “leisure activity” of rock climbing.
Kathrine is a passionate supporter of the Rubicon Educational Foundation and Letty Owings Center. Inspired by the spirit and resiliency of youth, she continues to be an advocate for opportunities for children to develop into global contributors.



Pinky Gonzales, Upriver Solutions

Pinky Gonzales lead a decade of innovation in Nashville, TN as a partner of echomusic, a company of 80 that built and managed websites and marketing campaigns for a generation of artists, including Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Keith Urban, The Jonas Brothers, Kelly Clarkson, Bon Jovi, Alicia Keys, Brad Paisley, Korn and many others.  Since then, he has worked with over 100 startups and Fortune 500 brands, including Anheuser-Busch, GM, Jarden Consumer Solutions and Clorox.  In 2008, he began teaching at Belmont University, where he was named the Adjunct Professor of the Year in 2010 for his course in Brand Development and Digital Strategies, and is now the Founder and Chief Strategist of Portland-based Upriver Solutions, a digital strategy and marketing company serving a wide range of businesses throughout the US and Canada.

Doug RiceDoug Rice, Enterprise Holdings

Doug Rice has been employed with Enterprise Holdings for almost 21 years.  In his current role as Talent Acquisition Manager he is responsible for the hiring and on boarding for all divisions in Oregon and SW Washington.  This include all three brands, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent-A-Car and multiple divisions such as Car Sales, Truck Rental, Business Rental Program, Fleet Services and the administrative office.  With over 14 years of hiring experience, Doug is very well versed on the subtleties of the process of moving from candidate to employee.  A frequent public speaker, Doug has presented on numerous topics such as interviewing skills, resume building, networking, and professional development.

Sarah Rathbun, Associate Director of Graduate Recruitment and Enrollment Management, Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA)

Sarah received her B.A. from the University of Tennessee and completed her master’s degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs at Indiana University. She has worked at the University of Tennessee, Missouri State University, and Indiana University in the student affairs fields of orientation, advising, career services, and graduate recruitment since 2005. Sarah currently runs the recruitment and admission functions for the nation’s top ranked Public Affairs master’s program at a public institution (US News & World Report 2013).

Len HolmesLen Holmes, Managing Director - The Lakewood Group

Len Holmes came to the Pacific Northwest from California at the age of eighteen on a football scholarship to Oregon State University.  Len was an All Pac 10 performer both his junior & senior years and All West Coast his senior year. He graduated in 4 years with majors in International Business and Marketing. During those 4 years he fell in love with the Pacific Northwest and the bride of his youth Sandie, and chose to make the Northwest his home.

Len’s professional business career started with American Hospital Supply/Baxter Healthcare where he spent sixteen years.  During those sixteen years he held various positions in sales and sales management.  With a goal to pursue his entrepreneurial dream, he founded The Lakewood Group, Inc. an Executive Search Firm. The Lakewood Group celebrated their 16th year anniversary in May.

Len is the creator of Interview 2 Win, which is the complete 1-hour audio interview guide. This interview help tool covers all aspects of the interviewing process from preparation to the offer. Almost every interviewing style and interview type is covered along with the most common interview questions.

He resides in Lakewood, Washington with Sandie, his wife of 34 years, and has three sons: Ryan 30, Justin 29, and Ian 24.
