Miranda Smith
My Role at OSU:
Graduate Assistant -- my role is to learn by doing! I help students create resumes and polish their interview skills, I give presentations to classes and student groups on various career-related topics, and I create and/or help present Career Services events geared to students and employers.
My Career Path:
After I graduate next June with my master's degree, I will continue a career journey of integrating academic advising and career exploration to help students find their own unique sense of vocation.
The Rewards in Doing what I do:
The best part of working with students is guiding them into those "aha!" moments where they truly realize the potential they have and the career/life options before them.
My Words of Wisdom to Students:
Don't get discouraged! If you don't know what you want to do with your life, or if you've decided that the path you were pursuing isn't for you, that's okay. Being undecided in your career path doesn't have to be "wasted" time -- this time can be a great gift and an opportunity for you to discover your passions and capabilities. Take advantage of it!
