Edie Blakley
My Role at OSU:
National Student Exchange Coordinator and
Career Fair Coordinator
My Career Path:
Mine has been a circuitous career path from Asbestos Removal and Waste
Water Technology back to office management and student programs. I earned
my undergraduate degree here at OSU in Liberal Arts and currently finishing
my Masters in College Student Services Administration. I will follow
my bliss . . .continue my career as a generalist in student services.
I love contributing to a college environment that supports student growth
and development.
The Rewards in Doing what I do:
Talking with students who have participated in NSE and hearing about how the experience has changed their lives. Helping students prepare for and improve their job search efforts, knowing that the work we do, the services we provide will positively impact student success. The best reward is the evidence each day that people are growing and blossoming and making a difference in the world.
My Words of Wisdom to Students:
Experience! Experience! Experience! Do it all, travel through National Student Exchange and Study Abroad; join clubs and student government; do at least one internship - more if you can. Seize every opportunity to make your education experiential - those are the moments you will best remember.
