The Ocean Observing Center nearly doubles the ocean observing facilities of OSU in Corvallis. The center supports field activities with office space, a high-bandwidth network facility, specialized laboratories, a high bay for instrument and buoy preparation, and equipment such as forklifts, gantry crane, and water tank for ballasting autonomous underwater gliders. The large paved lot provides room for OOI platform staging and storage, and easy access to the site allows large trucks to easily transport OOI infrastructure between the center and deployment locations throughout the Pacific Northwest.
