About the Center for Agricultural & Environmental Policy

Mission

To improve public and private decision making by providing the highest quality, objective economic analysis of critical public policy issues concerning agriculture, natural resources, energy, food systems, technology, and the environment.

Goals

  • To be the “go to” place in Oregon and the Pacific Northwest forobjective economic analysis of resource, environment, food systems and technology-related policy issues.
  • Build relationships with policy decision makers and stakeholders through roundtable discussions and policy forums to identify critical policy issues for the Center’s work.
  • Facilitate problem-driven, policy-relevant research founded in economic theory and quantitative methods; and promote collaboration with other sciences.
  • Provide a venue in which OSU economists and other scientists can collaborate, share data, and integrate models to address complex questions from multiple perspectives.
