Oregon State has the only university campus in the state that’s listed on the National Register of Historic Places, so take advantage of the many beautiful and iconic buildings on campus to enhance your communications. Campus photos are especially valuable in materials targeting potential students; seeing the campus helps them picture themselves here.

For photos where the building is the focus, look for unexpected angles and viewpoints, dramatic lighting and depth, as shown in the example above. Instead of trying to show an entire building in a straight-on photo, focus on key design elements or details, as shown above.

As with portraits, student life photos should look spontaneous and relaxed, as though your subjects are unaware of the camera. Make sure you feature a diverse cross-section of students.
