Principles of Agricultural Science - Animal (ASA)
Description: Principles of Agricultural Science – Animal is a foundational level (sophomore) course where students explore the world of animal agriculture and develop a management guide for an animal of their choice. Areas of study include history and domestication, handling and behavior, anatomy and physiology, nutrition, reproduction, genetics, health, selection, and marketing. Cost: $2500 Includes cost of instruction and materials, housing and meals.

Course Credit: Graduate course credit is available at three or six quarter credits. For more information click here. NOTE: All course credit registrants, whether they are Oregon residents or from out of state, will pay in-state tuition during Summer Session.
Schedule: On-site check-in is from 10:00am to 3:00pm at Mountain View High School, and class begins at 4:00pm on Monday evening at Mountain View High School. Class is held weekdays from 8:00am-5:00pm with lunch from 12-1:30, and the last class is Friday, August 16 from 8:00am to Noon.
For those traveling by air to Oregon: The cheapest flights normally are to Portland International Airport (PDX), which is about a 3 hour drive to Bend. There is a shuttle available to Bend, or participants can arrange for a rental car. The closest airport is Redmond Airport, which is about a 20 minute drive to Bend.
Housing: Housing will be provided at an area hotel, and a shuttle will be provided to the BMCC campus twice daily. Meals will be provided by BMCC for the duration of the Institute.
