If you're looking for a classic American university, you've found it in OSU! Our undergraduate programs generally take four years to complete. The minimum GPA to gain entry to OSU as an undergraduate student is 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. If your GPA is below a 3.0, you should consider applying to the Undergraduate Pathway program. See below for more information.
For a complete list of classes, visit the undergraduate course catalog here.
A combination of intensive English and academic courses, Pathway Programs offer students a clear path to the university. After successfully completing the program, students become degree-seeking students. The academic and English language requirements are lower to enter a Pathway program, giving students an opportunity to enter OSU.
Students who meet the academic requirement but not the English language requirement may be admitted conditionally. Depending on students' English test score, conditional admission may consist of all Academic English courses or a combination of English language and academic courses, to be taken until a satisfactory English language score is supplied.
Do you already have a bachelor's degree and are looking to earn a second bachelor's, minor or certificate? You'll enroll as a postbacc student. The requirements are mostly the same as for direct-admit students, but the college you're applying to will make the final admission decision. English language requirements are a TOEFL of 80 or higher with a minimum subscore of 16 in each section, or an IELTS of 6.5. Conditional Admission with low or no TOEFL/IELTS score is not possible. Visit the OSU Postbacc website for more information.
As a small degree-granting college within Oregon State University, the University Honors College (UHC) offers OSU's most prestigious undergraduate degree, the Honors Baccalaureate, in any undergraduate major.
The UHC offers:
The honors community is diverse, supportive and active in the university and the community. The UHC values and embraces a global perspective and welcomes students from all countries and backgrounds.
Admission to the UHC is competitive. Applicants meeting the minimum academic criteria will also be evaluated on their responses to the essay portion of the UHC application and on their non-academic activities and contributions to their communities.
