Research at Oregon State

Oregon State University receives more than $150 million in research funds each year. Research is conducted at the statewide, national, and international level on a range of significant issues.

  • Research resources include 11 colleges, an agricultural experiment station, a forest research laboratory, a marine science center, and 16 other centers and institutes.
     
  • OSU is ranked among the top 100 universities in the United States in total research and development spending.
     
  • Oregon State's Master's in Public Health program is ranked among the best in the U.S.
     
  • The graduate research program in oceanography ranked fifth in the nation in the most recent report of the National Academy of Sciences' National Research Council.
     
  • OSU ranks 11th in the nation in total scholarly activity in the fields of ecology, evolution, and behavior programs.
     
  • Research materials available include the atomic energy collection, the papers of two-time Nobel prize winner Linus Pauling, an extensive collection of world and historic costumes and textiles, large collections of birds, mammals, and arthropods, and a variety of other on-campus collections.
     
  • Oregon State has research agreements with universities throughout the United States and conducts research in countries all over the world, from Argentina to Yemen.
