The Campaign for OSU just announced it’s second upward goal change for the first full-scale capital campaign in school history: $1billion.
Learn more about how students are being positively affected by the campaign:

Recently, the Oregon Legislature approved bonds for three capital projects at Oregon State.
The Student Experience Center is slated to replace the aging Snell Hall and will house student organizations and accommodate student events. This project is also student-fee funded so Oregon State students are investing in this project.

The Student Experience Center will be located on the site of the current parking lot next to the MU.
The concept includes a new outdoor plaza between the MU and the new building, which will feature a rain-proof structure overhead to enable groups and events use of outdoor space even during inclement weather. A covered outdoor space was the number one requested building feature for student organizations surveyed two years ago. The Student Experience Center will be designed to meet or exceed LEED silver certification standards and will be built with sustainability in mind. Providing a healthy and energy efficient facility is a key project goal.
The Memorial Union Renovation project is the second funded project to address the move of the OSU Bookstore from the east end of the MU. This is also a student-fee funded project.
The final capital funded project is the construction of a new residence hall. The new hall with house 150 students to help alleviate the housing crunch in the Corvallis community (currently a 1% vacancy rate).

We hope that you’ve survived the madhouse of college applications, anxious parents and stressed out students. Thank you for your continued support and promotion of Oregon State! Below are few updates and reminders about Oregon State to help you work with students.
Fall 2012 Applications
One of the biggest questions we field this time of year is, ‘Does Oregon State still take applications?’ Even though our priority application period has passed, we are still accepting fall 2012 applications for admission.
We are extremely excited about our Fall 2012 class of new students so far. Applicants continue to be better prepared, more diverse and more motivated each year. On President’s Day we hosted nearly 1000 students and families for our first Spring Visit program of 2012. If the crowd and caliber of student is any indication of who will enroll in September, we are in for an amazing year!
OSU Nights
You may hear students talking about OSU Nights. We are hosting these admitted student receptions around the West (CA, WA, HI, NV, ID and OR) in March and April. Students that have been offered admission for fall 2012 will be invited to attend along with their family. Next steps in the enrollment process and an overview of support services at OSU will be discussed at OSU Nights. These programs also offer students the opportunity to meet other students from their area who are looking at OSU and make early connections. For a full listing of OSU Nights, visit oregonstate.edu/osunights.
Come See Us
We also encourage you to visit campus yourself, especially if you have never visited campus or it has been a few years. There are many great enhancements to our already beautiful and historic campus including a new residence hall, the Linus Pauling Science Center, new intramural fields and facilities and the Hallie Ford Center for Healthy Children and Families. If you are interested in visiting, please let me know. I’d like to take the time to personally meet with you.
Regards,
Noah

The Office of Admission has announced the Spring Visit program dates for 2012:

Spring Visit | Friday, March 30, 2012
Spring Visit | Friday, April 6, 2012
Spring Visit | Friday, April 13, 2012
For high school juniors, OSU Spring Visits are a great opportunity to learn the basics about Oregon State University. You’ll spend the day meeting with representatives from key academic and administrative areas, have a chance to tour the campus, and get some time to speak with current OSU students.
For students that have been admitted for fall 2012, there will also be sessions that will discuss the next steps in the enrollment process including financial aid and scholarship awards, paying the Advance Tuition Deposit (ATD), housing choices and the advising and registration process at START programs during the summer. Also, new this year, we will have stations dedicated for families that wish to pay their ATD at the event.

We talk all the time about the great number of opportunities that students have at OSU. Sometimes though, it’s just better to show them in action.
