We hope that you’ve survived the madhouse of college applications, anxious parents and stressed out students. Thank you for your continued support and promotion of Oregon State! Below are few updates and reminders about Oregon State to help you work with students.
Fall 2012 Applications
One of the biggest questions we field this time of year is, ‘Does Oregon State still take applications?’ Even though our priority application period has passed, we are still accepting fall 2012 applications for admission.
We are extremely excited about our Fall 2012 class of new students so far. Applicants continue to be better prepared, more diverse and more motivated each year. On President’s Day we hosted nearly 1000 students and families for our first Spring Visit program of 2012. If the crowd and caliber of student is any indication of who will enroll in September, we are in for an amazing year!
You may hear students talking about OSU Nights. We are hosting these admitted student receptions around the West (CA, WA, HI, NV, ID and OR) in March and April. Students that have been offered admission for fall 2012 will be invited to attend along with their family. Next steps in the enrollment process and an overview of support services at OSU will be discussed at OSU Nights. These programs also offer students the opportunity to meet other students from their area who are looking at OSU and make early connections. For a full listing of OSU Nights, visit oregonstate.edu/osunights.
Come See Us
We also encourage you to visit campus yourself, especially if you have never visited campus or it has been a few years. There are many great enhancements to our already beautiful and historic campus including a new residence hall, the Linus Pauling Science Center, new intramural fields and facilities and the Hallie Ford Center for Healthy Children and Families. If you are interested in visiting, please let me know. I’d like to take the time to personally meet with you.
