Join us at Beaver Music Preview

Sing with the choir, play with the band!

You and your family are invited to attend this day on campus planned just for prospective students interested in Music at Oregon State University.

Prospective majors and non-majors alike may participate. You will have the opportunity to talk to our faculty and students, participate in ensemble rehearsals, sample music courses. In addition, there will be campus tours, information on auditions and brief presentations from Admissions, Financial Aid and Advising.

The day also includes a very special performance and talk by OSU alumnus Roosevelt Credit — a Beaver on Broadway!

Bring your instrument! Participation is free. Lunch is provided.

Are you going to be here in Corvallis taking summer courses? Do you love listening to music? Well, you are in luck. During OSU’s Summer Session 2012, there will be 7 free noon concerts for your viewing pleasure. The concerts are scheduled to be held on the brick mall outside the OSU Bookstore, unless otherwise noted.  They will occur on Wednesday’s between the dates June 27th – August 15th.

In partnership with MU Program Council (MUPC) and MU Events, the logistics and management of the weekly concerts support ‘service learning’ opportunities for students while providing our audience with some great FREE summer time entertainment during the work week.  Students from MUPC select performers from around the northwest, from a variety of genre’, and coordinate the entire event.  While, students from MU Events manage the venue (stage/chairs/performance area) along with the sound/electronic requirements of the performers.

Apparently the guys perform for about a half hour every Friday afternoon at 4:00 PM. Outspoken has also recently released a full CD of their best work entitled “Sing Responsibly”.

Oregon State provides amazing performance opportunities for Music Majors and and non majors alike. Between the vaunted Chamber Choir , the OSU Marching Band , Outspoken & its female counterpart Divine along with the many other ensembles there are many ways to get involved in music at OSU.

–The OSU Band is hosting a recruit day at the OSU vs. Washington men’s basketball game on Saturday, February 16 at 4:00 p.m. Prospective OSU Band members will come and play with the OSU Band in Gill Coliseum for this televised game. Just go to the link below for details and a registration form:
