Football season is finally here! This Saturday’s kick off marks the 115^th football season for the Beavers. We will take on Sacramento State at Reser Stadium at 1:00 pm and tickets can be purchased online at here, Gill Coliseum (before Saturday), or at the Reser Stadium ticket office the day of.

The first conference game will be at Reser Stadium against UCLAon September 24^th. You can read this week’s official game notes at http://www.osubeavers.com/gameday/ or here. Saturday’s game will not be televised, but fans are able to stream the game live via Beaver Nation Online through OSU Athletics’ website. Come down, tailgate, and cheer on the Beavers at their first game of the season, this Saturday, September 3^rd!

Jacquizz and James Rodgers, Keaton Kristick and Head Coach Mike Riley showed up first thing Monday morning with hundreds of doughnuts to thank the OSU faithful for their loyalty.

Early yesterday morning at around 7:15 a.m., head coach Mike Riley, Keaton Kristick and James and Jacquizz Rodgers showed up at the Reser Stadium ticket office to offer donuts and thanks to surprised students – many of whom had braved the elements camping overnight to purchase [SIC: OSU students don't purchase their tickets, they pick them up] tickets for the Dad’s Weekend game against Washington.

Even though 7:15 a.m. is practically the middle of the night by Beaver OSR standards, and despite returning from the Bay Area hours earlier, OSR photog Brock Ameele scraped the sleep out of his eyes and headed to Reser when we caught wind of the visit

I can’t believe it’s already that time of year. Our students have arrived for Connect Week! On my drive in to work this morning I was greeted by an ENORMOUS line of students waiting for tickets to this Thursday’s USC game stretching from Gill Coliseum on 26th Ave. to the Indoor Practice Facility on 30th Ave.

…And this doesn’t even BEGIN to capture the length of this line. Consider that where these students are is a full city block from the ticket office. OSU Athletics officials said all 6,000 student tickets are expected to be distributed by the end of the day. I know that the first couple days of college are supposed to involve standing in some lines, but this is ridiculous!

Seriously though, standing in the Monday morning line for football tickets is one of many great traditions here on campus. Beaver Football wouldn’t be the same without it!

In other news, I am about to hit the road for fall recruitment. I am going to try and bring you a first person view of what it’s like on the road for an Admissions Representative. Expect to see my first dispatch from the NACAC Conference in Seattle. More on that to come!
