				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Oregon State University hosted the 11<sup>th</sup> Annual African American Youth Leadership Conference – and what a successful day it was! High school students from the Salem-Keizer School District were in attendance and heard from speakers, attended a variety of workshops and got to enjoy special entertainment during lunch from members of OSU’s African American Greek Life organizations. The theme of the conference was P.R.I.D.E.: Proud Responsible Individuals Dedicated to Excellence (Connect with Your Future: Dream, Focus, Plan, and Achieve Your Goals)</p>

<li>Emphasizing the value of education</li>
<li>Empowering future leadership (responsibility)</li>
<li>Establishing a sense of community</li>
<li> Increasing personal self-esteem and affirm cultural awareness</li>
</ul>
<p>Always a pleasure to participate and host such a program.</p>

<p>The goals of the conference were:</p>
