There will be a lot of Orange and Black in Hawaii during this year’s holiday season. The Oregon State football team accepted a bid to take part in the Hawaii Bowl on Dec. 24th, and Oregon State Men’s Basketball will be in Honolulu to compete in the eight-team Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic.
The Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic will take place on Sunday, Monday and Christmas Day. The hoopin’ Beavers are scheduled to take on Akron at 4:30pm PST (2:30 HST) on Sunday. Kickoff for our football Beavers is at 5pm. So, for those of you viewing at home, you will have to flip between ESPNU for Men’s Basketball, and ESPN for Beaver Football.
Several of the men on OSU’s football team will be simply returning home for winter break- with a bowl game included. It’s a homecoming for Titus Failauga, Manase Hungalu, Devon Kell, Ali’i Robins and Mana Rosa.
The Oregon State community is really excited to spend time in a region that we have a lot of ties to. There is a very strong presence of Hawaiian students at Oregon State, and I’m sure they are excited to get the opportunity to host their school in their home state.
