OSU ranked a ‘Cool School’

August 22nd, 2013

A new ranking has been released touting OSU as the 11th top “Cool School” in the nation! Earlier this month, the Sierra Club released its rankings for most sustainable schools in the nation. Out of the 162 schools recognized, Oregon State came out as the highest ranking green campus in the state of Oregon. The rankings were based on how the campus is working to solve climate problems as well as if the campus is making significant efforts to operate sustainably.

“OSU has been honored for its efforts at supporting alternative transportation for students, faculty and staff living off campus, including ride sharing, a campus shuttle system, bike parking and lockers, utilization of Corvallis transit and WeCar sharing.”

OSU also offers green student groups, classes and study abroad programs that focus on sustainability and campus wide competitions that encourage students, staff and faculty to be greener by changing their daily behaviors.
