Anyone who has visited Oregon State University this summer has probably noticed a different kind of orange all over campus, construction orange. This is an exciting time for our campus as we as are making great additions to provide a quality experience for our students. A combination of private donors, state funds, Campaign OSU, and students fees it totals to nearly $300 million in projects across campus.
The New Student Experience Center will be going up in the center of campus and will house a lot of the student programs we have. The most requested addition from students was a “A rain-protected, outdoor space…” A plaza between the Memorial Union and New Student Experience Center will have a 8,000 square foot canopy. Back in February we broke ground on Austin Hall which is going to be the new home for the College of Business and will be close to Weatherford Hall where the Austin Entrepreneur Program is housed in. This summer we started the construction of a new residence hall that will be located on the east side of campus and is scheduled to open September 2014 and will house 324 students.
