The Beaver Nation Migration has begun! Students will be moving in to the residence halls on Tuesday, September 18th or Wednesday, the 19th. Move-in day marks the beginning of CONNECT at Oregon State.
New students, faculty, and staff will be participating in various events as part of CONNECT, which is held through the end of the week, right before classes begin on September 24th. There will be a variety of tours, workshops, open houses, activities and of course, food. There is a complete schedule of CONNECT events that can be found at http://calendar.oregonstate.edu/20120918/list/newstudentprograms/.
One of the biggest events is the New Student Convocation, which will be held on Thursday, September 20th at 3:00 pm. Students will gather in the Memorial Union Quad by their academic colleges and walk together for the first time as a class to Gill Coliseum and participate in a ceremony that will mark their official academic welcome. Following convocation there will be the New Student Picnic in the MU Quad. Tickets and more information can be found at http://connect.oregonstate.edu/new-student-picnic-reservations.
