Stepped into the Bad Side

June 1st, 2011

The 9th annual Divine 9 Step Show took place over the Memorial Day Weekend at OSU’s LaSells Stewart Center. The Step show was hosted by the Black Cultural Center, Black Student Union, and other student organizations and showcased the Divine Nine Black Greek Letter Organizations.

This year seven teams competed: Alpha Phi Alpha, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Omega Psi Phi, Phi Beta Sigma, Zeta Phi Beta, Sigma Gamma Rho, and Iota Phi Theta. While most of the participants and audience were from Oregon and Washington, people from California and Idaho also traveled to Corvallis for the show.

The purpose of the event is to provide awareness of the Black Greek Fraternal and Sorority system. Austin Auditorium was almost at capacity with supporters of the event. If you have not attended the Divine 9 Step Show before, I recommend it. All of the teams performed well and congratulations to Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. for winning their divisions!
