OSU announces two-hour delay for Friday; classes/operations to begin at 10 a.m.

February 24th, 2011

The expected arrival of frigid temperatures tonight, following the recent snowfall, may create unusually hazardous driving conditions early Friday morning (Feb. 25). As a result, Oregon State University will delay opening for two hours – with classes and other campus activities beginning at 10 a.m.

Emergency management officials encourage students, faculty, staff and campus visitors to exercise caution as they travel to the Corvallis campus.

Such delays are unusual and students, faculty, staff, visitors and others are encouraged to go online to the OSU home page, to alert.oregonstate.edu when inclement weather is possible, or call the OSU Emergency Information line at 541-737-8000.

Changes in campus plans made after hours would be available via those channels no later than 6 a.m. the following morning.

During this challenging weather, individuals are encouraged to use their best judgment to determine whether traveling to campus is safe, if they are in areas where road conditions or other circumstances make the commute hazardous.
