As an OSU alum I'm happy about the decisions by such high achieving Portland high school students. But I think if a private college costs were equal to OSU's, the list might look slightly different. So I think we should savor the outcome, especially OSU over U of O, but I think this list is more about the great value OSU represents to a top end Portland high school student who wants to attend a high quality college within Oregon without incurring a $55,000 per year private university tuition, room and board bill.

If money were no object, and students applied for and gained admission to all schools they applied for, and these same students were willing to go to a college anywhere, I think the list of colleges attended might look significantly different. But each person has a unique set of reasons where they apply for and then decide to attend a certain college. I'm just glad OSU seems to be at the top of list for some great high school students.
