OSU Football Players and Coach hand out doughnuts

November 10th, 2009

Great article from the OSU Official Sports Report OSU students have made quite the tradition of camping out the Sunday evening before ticket distribution begins on Monday. There are usually a few hundred folks camping out for any given game.

Jacquizz and James Rodgers, Keaton Kristick and Head Coach Mike Riley showed up first thing Monday morning with hundreds of doughnuts to thank the OSU faithful for their loyalty.

Early yesterday morning at around 7:15 a.m., head coach Mike Riley, Keaton Kristick and James and Jacquizz Rodgers showed up at the Reser Stadium ticket office to offer donuts and thanks to surprised students – many of whom had braved the elements camping overnight to purchase [SIC: OSU students don’t purchase their tickets, they pick them up] tickets for the Dad’s Weekend game against Washington.

Even though 7:15 a.m. is practically the middle of the night by Beaver OSR standards, and despite returning from the Bay Area hours earlier, OSR photog Brock Ameele scraped the sleep out of his eyes and headed to Reser when we caught wind of the visit

When we talk about Beaver Nation being a community that’s Powered by Orange…We aren’t kidding, folks! Kudos to Coach Riley and the players for the kind gesture AND to Beaver Nation for being the best fans in the Pac-10!
