JELD-WEN, inc., a Klamath Falls based company specializing in windows and doors, announced their selection in their search for the Ultimate Fan, a contest pitting fans of the Beavers against fans of the Ducks. The public was asked to submit photos of their spirited home décor, with the winner taking bragging rights, a JELD-WEN Custom Carved interior door with their university logo and a $100 gift certificate to their university bookstore. Portlanders Jon and Cynda Weaver took the title. Here’s a shot of their winning room:
On the JELD-WEN FAN-tastic press release:
Every corner of the room displays the Weaver family’s obsession – a bright orange ceiling, an extensive collection of autographed Sports Illustrated covers and Beaver memorabilia. The JELD-WEN judges were impressed that even Ted, the family’s orange and white dog, is trained to thrash his favorite duck chew toy when “Go Beavers is mentioned.
Honorable mentions for the Ultimate Fan contest were also awarded to the spirited decor shown by:
• Susan and Bob Schmidt, Beaver fans from Corvallis, Ore.
• Kelly K. Holloway, Beaver fan from Sherwood, Ore.
• T.J. Marthaller, Beaver fan from Salem, Ore. (nominated by son Josh, a Duck fan at the University of Oregon)
Congratulations to the Weavers! Their dog Ted sure knows an impressive trick! … He should meet Dixie.
