Earlier this week (May 22), OSU had the honor of hosting, for a day, a delegation of Education USA advisors from Benin, Bolivia, Czech Republic, Malawi, Panama, Russia, Thailand, and Venezuela.
Whether connected to a U.S. embassy, a Fulbright Commission, or private university, each representative’s role is to counsel students in their respective countries about the vast array of educational exchange opportunities available in the U.S.
In addition to meeting President Ray, who spoke of the importance and value of internationalization, the visitors met with several head academic advisors, current international student leaders, and staff and faculty associated with International Programs and the Office of Admissions.
This group of eight is visiting a total of five universities and community colleges this week while in Oregon…and will get the chance to see a bit of Oregon, too, with it’s gorgeous greenery and blooms this time of year. Their visit is a ‘lead up’ to the annual NAFSA conference to be held in Minneapolis at the end of May.
