El Hispanic football preview; All Beaver games to be broadcast in Spanish

Posted August 31st, 2006 by Blake

El Hispanic has published their preview of tonight’s football game pitting OSU against 1-AA Eastern Washington at Reser Stadium. Our own Javier Cervantes will be providing expert analysis on the Spanish radio broadcast. Here’s more about the unique partnership from Javier’s article in El Hispanic:

Oregon State University has taken the next step in its outreach to Latinos by evolving and expanding its coverage of the OSU Beavers football team. Beginning with the Aug. 31 game between the Beavers and Eastern Washington University, the entire season will be available live and in Spanish thanks to OSU in partnership with Churchill Media, LLC, of Eugene. The 13-game OSU Beavers football
season will be on LaX sports network in Eugene (KXOR 660AM), Portland (KXPD 1040 AM), and Yakima, WA (KLES 101.7 FM). Previously OSU football games were available in Spanish in the Portland and Salem areas only. “I’m excited about the direction our Hispanic sports marketing efforts have taken us,” said Bob De Carolis, director of athletics. “Diversity is a key value of the athletics and the university as a whole.”

Beaver Football
Tonight’s game will also be carried on Fox Sports Northwest
at 7 p.m.
Go Beavers!
