On Thursday, March 9th, Oregon State University and Lane Community College (Eugene) signed a Degree Partnership Program agreement. This will allow students to concurrently enroll at both institutions and use the combined enrollment to qualify for full-time financial aid. There is great potential for this partnership to quickly evolve into one of OSU’s largest partnership programs as this past fall over 1100 students from Lane County enrolled at OSU. Also, OSU has been a favorite destination for many of Lane’s transfer student population because of our strong science programs and engineering school. Lane is OSU’s 12th degree partnership program partner.
From Helen Garrett, Enrollment Director at Lane CC, “What’s phenomenal about Oregon State is that statewide and nationally, they are the experts on these types of programs,” she said. “They know how to do this, they really take good care of the students in the program, and they’ve been doing it the longest.” (I just had to put that in).
An article by the Eugene Register-Guard is here. We will be accepting applications for the Summer term as soon as we get the online application turned on (most likely today or tomorrow).
