Intel just committed $730,000 to Oregon universities to advance engineering and technology research intiatives to increase the number of graduates in the technology and engineering fields. Oregon State University received $250,000 for a networking lab in the new Kelley Engineering Center and $25,000 to support a total of 10 undergraduates as research assistants at the College of Engineering, to encourage them to pursue graduate studies. This money is in addition to the $208 million in research funding OSU garnered for the 2005 academic year (more than all OUS institutions combined)! That’s why we call Oregon State “Oregon’s Premier Research University“.
