Early Career is for Tier Two & Oregon Public Service Retirement Plan (OPSRP) members. Topics covered include PERS Tier Two membership details and benefits, OPSRP overview (for members hired on or after August 29, 2003), OPSRP membership details and benefits and the Individual Account Program.
1 Year to Retirement is for members within one year of retirement. Topics to be covered are Individual Account Program, retirement eligibility, calculating the retirement benefit, review of benefit estimate, retirement option choices, variable account after retirement, work after retirement limitations, health insurance, cost-of-living adjustments, taxes and review of retirement application forms.
5 Years to Retirement is for members within five years of retirement. Topics covered include Individual Account Program, regular and variable accounts, retirement benefit information and work after retirement limitations.
Individual Counseling - Retirement Application Assistance (in person) is for those looking for an individual consultation with a PERS representative. Individual help with your retirement application forms. Must be completed within 90 days of retirement.
Retirement Application Assistance (online training) is for those retiring within the year, this hour-long internet based session provides an overview of the PERS service retirement application forms and the Individual Account Program retirement application forms.
The session provides details on which forms are required and the appropriate way to fill out all the required forms.
Oregon Savings Growth Plan Workshops
Wealth Builder describes what the OSGP is, how it works and why it is a valuable tool to use to accumulate dollars for retirement. The seminar discusses benefits of tax-deferred investing, OSGP investment options and enrollment information.
Planning & Investing helps participants calculate long-term savings goals, review the nine investment options, and create personal investment strategies.
The Retirement Seminar is for participants within five years of retirement or who have severed employment and includes the catch-up provision, pay-out options, IRS requirements and the impact of new tax laws upon retirees, time frames, and forms completion.

Are you as prepared as you could be for the day you retire? This workshop is designed to let people know how much they need to save to replace their income in retirement. Topics include, How much money will you need, how much money do you need to save, investment concepts, calculating your savings goal. Information is applicable to employees in both the PERS and ORP (Optional Retirement Program) pension programs, as well as those that are not in a pension eligible position.
