The first component of the Performance Management Cycle is the position description (PD). The PD is the primary document used for personnel administration.
Purpose
- Records duties and working conditions.
- Guides the determination for appropriate classifications, compensation and FLSA status.
- Links individual with the department mission.
- Establishes management's expectations.
- Identifies essential job functions, providing a framework for performance objectives and standards.
- Identifies potential training needs.
