Complete and mail the FAFSA or Renewal FAFSA. Entering freshman should complete the OSU Scholars application
which is part of the OSU Application for Admission.
Make copies of all applications and place in the Financial Aid Information folder you have made.
February
Watch the mail for your Student Aid Report or Info Acknowledgement. Make sure Oregon
State is listed in the school section or
contact the Office of
Financial Aid and Scholarships immediately. Waiting can cost you money.
Explore the internet for private scholarships; it could pay off.
Contact campus departments for their scholarship applications.
March
Filed your FAFSA in January and have not heard anything? Follow up on your aid application and contact the Central Processor people.
April
If your FAFSA was mailed on time, you will receive either a request for additional information or your Award Notification.
May
If you have applied for aid and have registered for Summer credits, you will be sent a revised Award Notification with Summer Aid.
June
Haven't heard anything about your application? Better follow up on your aid application Waiting can cost you money.
July
When you signed your Award Letter, did you accept your loans? Promissory notes and instructions will be
on their way. Summer aid is disbursed to students who registered by June 1.
August
If you were offered Work-Study funds,
expect to receive information about obtaining a job.
First time Ford Direct Student Loan Borrowers need to do
Entrance Counseling. Print and
drop off your completed test form at the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.
September
Get a job! Contact Student Employment Services for assistance in locating job opportunities.
October
Don't drop that class! Check the
Satisfactory Academic Progress guidelines that are noted in your
Financial Aid Award Guide.
Contact a financial aid advisor if you're not sure what to do.
November
No clue if you ever received a University bill and your aid was paid?
Better contact the Office of
Financial Aid and Scholarships or you may lose out on funding.
December
Come to the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships to pick up a FAFSA for the following year.
An application must be filed every year.
