Withdrawals and Return of Aid

Students who withdraw from the university after the start of the term must complete a Withdrawal Form through the Registrar’s Office and contact the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. If financial aid funds were used to pay tuition and fees, and a student withdraws, any refundable tuition amount is returned to the appropriate financial aid sources (refer to the tuition/fee refund schedule in the OSU Schedule of Classes).

Students may also be required to repay a percentage of the financial aid credited or disbursed based on the date of the withdrawal. This percentage is based on aid received and allowable charges. The amount to be repaid is determined by the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships in accordance with the federal guidelines (refer to the Return of Title IV funds in the OSU Schedule of Classes). Students who have received aid and then withdraw will have future funds withheld.

Students must appeal in writing to the OSU Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships regarding their academic progress and future aid eligibility.
