Each legislative session Oregon State University supporters take a special day to paint the State Capitol in Salem orange and black. OSU Day puts Oregon State University in the forefront of legislator’s minds and reminds them of the important role of Oregon’s only land-, sea-, sun- and space-grant university.
OSU Day this session was held on Tuesday, April 17. The day provided legislators with an opportunity to experience the significant impact OSU has in Oregon — and specifically in their legislative districts. The various Colleges and programs at OSU provided display booths staffed by knowledgeable representatives. Throughout the day, OSU students, faculty, and alumni met informally with legislators to discuss OSU's innovative educational and research endeavors throughout the state. Benny, the OSU mascot, was also in the building posing for photos with Capitol visitors and staff. The day included a 5:00 p.m. reception in the galleria that connected legislators with their OSU constituents.
