OSU Community and Diversity Mentoring Program
Overview
Mentorship is the developmental relationship between two or more people with different levels of experience that takes place over a period of time. Goal #2 of the OSU Diversity Action Plan is to “provide an excellent campus climate that fosters student, staff and faculty retention that matches our peer institutions and the best land grant universities in the country.” The mentoring program is a community building and retention tool that will bring us closer to that goal.
This program does not replace existing mentoring programs available on campus, and is not advising, counseling or coaching.
Mentors are asked to attend an orientation session prior to being matched with their protégé. The next scheduled orientation session is Thursday, September 4, 3:30 – 4:40 in MU211.
