• Supports more effective academic advising for students considering transferring into a new post-secondary institution by reducing the need to manually determine how each.
• Allows students more choices in selecting an institution and academic major based upon courses previously completed.
• Facilitates planning of future courses, increasing efficiency and reducing time to degree.
• Allows student access from anywhere and at any time through the online application.

The IDTS project is part of the K-12 alignment initiative in Oregon. This project is responsible for establishing electronic transcript processing from Oregon public high schools to Oregon public universities and community colleges. This will be accompanied by an Oregon Department of Education project that will allow horizontal transfer of high school transcripts between high schools. These projects support the progression of students from high school to college.
