Dr. Vicki Tolar Burton:

Dr. Vicki Tolar Burton is Director of the Writing Intensive Curriculum Program and Associate Professor of English at Oregon State University. Dr. Tolar Burton hold a Ph. D. in English with a concentration in Rhetoric and Composition. In addition to directing the WIC program and teaching WIC faculty seminars, she teaches courses in the history of rhetoric, the teaching of writing, English grammar, and British literature. She serves on the board of the National Writing Across the Curriculum Network. Her publications have appeared in Rhetoric Review, College Composition and Communication, College English, Computers and Composition, and in a number of edited collections. She has received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Humanities and from the Oregon State University Center for the Humanities. Dr. Tolar Burton is currently working on a book project, Spiritual Literacy: John Wesley and the Making of Readers, Writers, and Speakers in Early Methodism.
