Craneflies
European cranefly, Tipula paludosa, and common
cranefly, T. oleraceae, can be problems in nursery production.
We have reports of root feeding damage from ornamental grasses and heather.
Look for direct damage to root systems as presence of the larvae, also
known as leatherjackets, may not directly relate to damage.
