Current Projects at O.S.U.
The Oregon State University Herbarium, under the direction of Dr. Aaron Liston is currently involved with several major projects. This page will present a brief synopsis of each and provide you with links to othe
r pages with more information.
The projects are as follows:
- New! Botany 221:
Introduction to Plant Systematics, taught by Dr. Aaron Liston.
- We are currently working on three components of this project:
the Oregon Vascular Plant Checklist; the Oregon Flora Atlas Project;
and the development of the infrastructure for writing the Flora.
The ultimate goal of the Oregon Flora Project
is to publish in text and electronic forms, a comprehensive flora of the
native and naturalized plants of Oregon. Also, we now have an on-line
version of the Oregon Vascular Plant Checklist
Contributors Guide avaliable.
- The Oregon Flora Newsletter
On-Line is a publication of the Oregon Flora Project.
- The National Science Foundation has awarded OSU a generous grant to make possible the integration of the Oregon State and University of
Oregon herbaria into one collection, housed here at Oregon State.
This project is being led by Dr.
Scott Sundberg and his crew of graduate and undergraduate students.
- The Carex Working Group is an effort to
document the taxonomy and distribution of the Oregon sedges
(Carex). This project is a group effort by many of the
students and researchers here at OSU.
- Our recent addition of information and images
regarding Oregon's Rare, Threatened, and
Endangered plants.
- Our often updated Image Browser of some of the beautiful
Oregon flora.
