Fish Farming at Natural Lake in Nepal; Challenges & Opportunities

ABSTRACT

Nepal is a Himalayan kingdom with full of natural lakes. These lakes may be the major source of national income throughout the commercial fish farming and eco- tourism industries. Scientifically it is proven that the all lakes of Nepal are full of fresh water and free from pollution. The government of Nepal are encouraging the private sector to conserve develop and set up the fish farming and ecotourism industry in these lakes. Appreciating such effort of Government, people are starting to set up the such programs slowly.

The commercial fish farming at natural lakes in Nepal is a very emerging issue in Nepal. An increased demand of fresh water fish and high price of various meat by concern of over expansion of relatively new industry. The lakes of Nepal are technically proved more fertile for fish farming aquaculture and set up the eco- tourism due to its natural beauties suggested by Japan international co-operative association. This association also involving to develop farming and hatching the fish in one lake of this territory. It is true that to set up the fish farming and eco- tourism in Nepalese lake is more beneficial work economically.

In other hand such kind of natural resources are being useless The main reason of this problem is the financial problem. If these lakes and resources found the good guardian financially they can certainly earn very good amount.
