ABSTRACT
George Kennedy will discuss new directions in interdisciplinary teaching (including distance learning) and research being adopted at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver, Canada. He will discuss examples at different levels: within one faculty or college - the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at UBC; across faculties at UBC; and between UBC and its international partner universities. One of the international partnerships is focused on Southeast Asia for graduate education and research, and another is focused on North America (British Columbia,
Oregon and Mexico) for both undergraduate and graduate education and research.
