The Effects of Information on People's Judgments of Risk and Benefit
By Stephen Johnson
ABSTRACT
A discussion of the effects of information on people's judgments of
risk and benefit. Using results from a series of studies that colleagues
and I have done at Decision Research, where subjects are given either risk
or benefit information and the effects on judgments of both risk and
benefit are measured. The result is counterintuitive and has direct
application to the communication of risk.
