Lichens in the Teenage Mind

I started off a mini-workshop for high school students by asking them to make a quick sketch of what they thought lichens looked like. Then, after an hour and a half of seeing lichens and talking about them, the students repeated the assignment. Here are the results, with permission of the artists. Each person's drawings have a left-hand "before" panel and a right-hand "after".
